This week in ISM was the first week of the second quarter of school and our class difficulty and amount of work increased a tremendous amount. The nine weeks agenda was laid out and instead of having one assessment due this week, we had two. Although I was nervous I wouldn't able to get them done as I procrastinated for my past assessment leaving them for Friday night, I learned that I couldn't keep doing that anymore. I made sure to complete one assessment by Wednesday and the other by Friday. This technique allowed me to better my time management skills, while also being able to learn so much more. Although both of my assessments were on different topics, they more contained important information I would be able to make use of in my original work. One of my assessments was on Connections between Epigenetic Gene Silencing and Human Disease and that provided information on the actual research I would need more my original work on creating a mock NIH grant proposal on an experiment about reversing epigenetic silencing to treat diseases. My second assessment was on the importance of technology in clinical studies and I can use that info to convey how I can use technology as a major aspect of collecting data for my proposal.
