Hello, my name is Khushi Vakta and I am a diligent, hardworking student at Frisco High School. I am passionate about helping others, and this passion led me to pursue biomedical research as my topic of study in ISM. I have participated in numerous clubs such as Student Council, National Honor Society, HEAT, and DECA. Outside of school, I am part of an organization called Kind Karma and we are a cause that has raised $8,000 to buy oxygen concentrators for cities in India as the pandemic has taken a huge toll on this country. We have shipped 7 concentrators to India as of right now, but we still want to reach our goal of $50,000.
Mission Statement
Through this independent study, I plan on getting a better understanding of what the Biomedical research field will encompass by connecting with professionals and gaining experience in a professional research setting, with help from my mentor. I want to become very knowledgeable in this field by constructing my research to contribute to this field, so I can later create an exceptional final product to the best of my ability. I will challenge myself throughout this school year by working diligently each day to make this ISM opportunity meaningful and grow from this experience. Using my skills of integrity, initiative, and professionalism I hope to attain the necessary skills to be successful not only in this course but also in the real world.
