Making visions into reality

This week in ISM I was able to have the opportunity to attend my first business symposium where I got to listen to speeches and questions I had regarding the professional working world were answered. The informational speeches regarding the speakers' hardships and how they go to the place where they are were eye-opening to me as I began to understand how following the career that I wanted wasn’t going to be easy. Similarly, the opportunity to attend this Business Symposium gave me more experience with dressing and presenting myself professionally as all the ISM students had a dress code as we were required to wear blazers and slacks, take notes with a padfolio we brought, and ask insightful questions to the professionals that came. One of the main things I took away from this symposium was that if I have a vision in mind regarding major projects such as my original work, but they seem too difficult to complete I don’t want to just give up on them, but instead work even harder to achieve it. Additionally, striving to accomplish my vision assists me when searching for career opportunities, as I wouldn’t want to stop trying to be hired for a job that seems almost impossible to get because I should never compromise my effort. Although I was a little nervous for the Business Symposium, I believe it went well and I was more than happy with all the new things I learned and excited about the new people I met.
