This week in ISM I was able to skillfully complete my third research assessment regarding the importance of consent in biomedical research. I was able to deeper my knowledge once again in this field by studying how for advances to take place in the field of biomedical research, tests have to take place using human participants, so new and important discoveries can be made. I learned that since the use of human participants is so heavily and widely used the importance of consent for ethical practice is more important than ever before as informed consent is a major aspect of ethics, not only to improve the bonding between the participant and researcher serving a complete involvement, but also ensuring safety for the participants from research-related injury. It was quite difficult for me to find an article that sparked my interest that I believed work to aid me in writing a solid assessment to the best of my abilities. After intensive searching, I was able to find an article titled "Informed Consent in Biomedical Research and this helped me discover this side of collecting data in research. Next week I would like to work on perfecting my resume with the peer critiques I received from the prior week, as that'll help me grow by opening up new opportunities for myself.
