This week in ISM has deepened my interest and knowledge in the Biomedical field by allowing me to learn about how other fields are closely related to it. My research assessment for this week was done on an article about how the job of a biomedical researcher is becoming more and more similar to the job of a computer scientist due to the effect programming has on both fields. A question I had based on the information that I learned this week was whether or not and how beneficial how it be for me to take programming classes in college to learn either R or python coding languages? Although I believe that the actual information I typed for the assessment was done successfully, I still need to work on my formatting to make sure my assessment is as professional as possible. Additionally, creating a well-put-together resume was an important aspect of the professional work that I learned how to do. A good resume can set you apart from others in situations like applying for a job or even finding a mentor for this class and it is extremely valuable. I learned many tips regarding how long my resume should be, what are the main points that people look for in a resume, and how to format it so it is easy to comprehend.
